TRAINING

Training for beginners traditionally commences around the end of October starting on the BSAC Ocean Diver course progressing towards Sport diver level. We do ask all trainees new and old to offer a commitment to the training programme as all the instructors are volunteers and are dedicating their spare and diving time to teach. For details on training programmes or further information please contact the Diving Officer or Chairman.

We at BSAC branch 464 encourage all of our members to further their training at all levels. We assess and monitor all branch diving activties to the standard expected of qualfied BSAC divers. We are proud to retain this high standard of diving, keeping our sport safe and enjoyable for all present members and future members to experience.

Regional Skill Development courses can be and have been run successfully at BYC over the years. At BYC we are proud to offer to the region second to none facilities for training, with private classrooms, showers (male and female), changing rooms and two operational diving ribs with private slipways into Belfast Lough.

Being a member of North Down BASC 464 also comes with full membership to Ballyholme Yacht Club which offers all the facilities expected of such a pretigious yachting fraternity. RYA training courses are run in house all year round as well as the much needed power boat handling courses for those wishing to drive a dive rib.

We welcome all divers beginner or qualified to meet with and view the facilities that North Down BSAC 464 BYC diving club has to offer.
